Repeat offender caught and charged

Dear Residents,

A quick message to share a good news story from a recent arrest the team made.

Whilst on patrol on Tuesday the team noticed a wanted male who had failed to appear at court earlier in the year after being charged by the team for shoplifting. This male attempted to evade police but was quickly caught. He was arrested and subsequently found to be in possession of a knife and stolen items from further shopliftings. Some of the team worked over 16 hours to ensure this male was charged and remanded to court for all offences. At court the next morning the suspect was faced with overwhelming evidence and pleaded guilty. He has since been remanded in prison until sentencing.

This is a great result for the team. Over the past year this suspect has stolen over £1000 worth of meat and confectionary from local shops with the intention of selling it on.

Thank you

Acting Sergeant Oli Shearer
